Thakur
Bishan Singhji by His Late Highness Maharaja Shri
Umaid Singhji of Jodhpur in the Year 1943 along with
two other villages, before which it was a 'Khalsa'
Village, meaning for Three Decades it was under the
direct rule of Marwar State (Jodhpur).
On arrival you enter through a grand gateway into the
Karni Kot - Sodawas, which is still owned by the
family of Thakur Bishan Singhji.
The family will join you and will give you an
opportunity to discuss our traditions,culture
and the rich heritage of Marwar erstwhile State
of Jodhpur. Folk Music and Theme Dinners
are additional attractions. Our beautifully designed
stables will interest Horse lovers..
A visit to Sodawas Kot is indeed a delightful and
memorable experience.

Accommodation:
This
colonial manor which started with a strength of 10
tastefully furnished art-deco style rooms in 1990, now
has an additional 5 luxury tents. Karni Kot lies 90 kms
to the south of Jodhpur, en-route to Udaipur; on a left
turn soon after crossing Pali The Kot has ten bedrooms
and every modern amenity. The family drawing and dining
rooms have been opened to receive you in true Rajput
Hospitality with colonial. Traditional Rajasthani
Cuisine for which the House is well known for, is served
to you with spices adapted to your taste

and oper air Garden Restaurant provides you Indian,
Continental, Chinese and typical Rajasthani dishes
prepared by highly skilled chefs.
Restaurant of hotel Lake Palace serves Indian & regional
cuisine.

arrival a traditional welcome ceremony with the
villagers and the aristocrats of Sodawas.

Village walk safari which will enable you to see the
different clans in this village.

Wild life Jeep Safari - after Safari tea is served on
the top of Mamoji Ki Bhakri, (a hillock overlooking
the vast fields, wild life and the manor ahead).

At
dusk you are served your sun downers (Scotch, Gin &
tonic or a Beer) with freshly prepared Barbecue,
re-enacting living the Old Days of a Barbecue with
drinks after a Shikar (Shoot).

Guests are served dinner in traditional colonial
style, a formal sit down with proper arrangements. The
dinner is hosted by the Sodawas family.

Breakfast buffet in the dinning hall.

Running hot and cold water - 24 hours.

Guests can go on horse back to village Sapuni
or the village tank. There they will be served lunch
which will bought to you by the natives in the same
traditional ceremony as was practised during the time
of the late Th. Bishal Singhji.
