Rajmahal was
established in 1729 for one of the sisodia princesses so she
could distance herself from the intrigues of the Kachchawaha
zenana.
It later become the Residency ,occupied by various British
Residents. in that status , it also played host to visiting
dignitaries from around the world , whether Queen Elizabeth II
or Jacqueline Kennedy , as private guests of the Jaipur
royals. IT TOO IS RUN AS A PALACE HOTEL.
This palace has played host to several VVIPs like Queen
Elizabeth and Jacqueline Kennedy. Centrally set in 15 acres of
well-maintained lawns, the Rajmahal palace was converted into
a hotel in 1979 and today it belongs to the Taj group of
hotels.
The
palace has spacious suites with high ceilings, chandeliers and
period furniture. Beautiful paintings and antiques have been
carefully preserved and are reminiscent of the royal past.
Other special features are swimming pool, spacious of lawns
and shady trees providing ample space for walking and bird
watching.
The main dining room

and special recipes from Rajasthan
